2010 Environmental Leadership Award

Hammer Packaging received the 2010 Environmental Leadership Award for demonstrating a significant commitment to environmental and conservation issues, and dedicating resources to programs that will have a positive impact on the environment. This award is sponsored jointly by the RIT/Golisano Institute of Sustainability, the Greater Rochester Enterprise business council and the Rochester Business Journal. 

Hammer’s recognition focused on the strides it has made in the area of Recycle and Reuse.  Hammer currently recycles 84% of all waste, materials and supplies company-wide.  We also use UV and EB (electron beam) inks and coatings that require half the energy for curing versus more traditional water-based inks and coatings.  Additionally, Hammer is nearing its final phase of consolidating five locations into two, resulting in a significant reduction of its carbon footprint.
